Users who purchase SPF-290AS must use pre irradiated light sources to complete relevant tests.

1. Apply sunscreen to the surface of PMMA board or other media.

2. Pre irradiation of PMMA board. The FDA regulation is 4MEDs. The regulations of COLIPA depend more on the materials used for testing.

3. Analyze the pre irradiated PMMA board.


4, or 9 PMMA plates can be pre irradiated with a dose of 4MED (1 MED=210 J/m ²=0.021 J/cm ²=21mJ/cm ² (effective)).


16S-300-009 is a light source used for pre irradiation testing of PMMA plates, which complies with the wide spectrum in vitro testing standards for light blocking agents established by COPLIPA, FDA, JCIA, Australian, and ISO.


The emission spectrum complies with the COLIPA standard adopted by the FDA. The light source can vertically illuminate a diameter of 75mm and test a 2 square inch square PMMA board. The temperature rise of PMMA board is below 0.2 ℃.

The effective dose irradiation cycle of 4MEDs is 23 minutes. The dose value can be obtained by the PMA2101 detector, which can effectively respond to the erythema spectrum and obtain effective irradiation values. The PMA2100 data recording radiometer can accurately record dose values. The PMA2100 radiometer can also perform automatic dose control on the light source to ensure the dose reaching the PMMA board.

If higher flux is required, we can provide LS1000-4S-009 light source. A square spot of 4 square inches can simultaneously illuminate 4 PMMA plates. If needed, we can provide a light source with a 6X6 square inch spot, which can simultaneously irradiate 9 PMMA plates. During the entire irradiation process, the temperature rise of the PMMA plates is less than 0.2 ℃.
